Louise Bouvet-Zieleskiewicz is a curator and PhD researcher. She graduated from the EHESS in Paris with a degree in Art and Language, and studied philosophy of art at the Sorbonne. She attended the School of Curatorial Studies in Venice and is currently affiliated with the LESA research laboratory and works between Paris and Venice. She is the artistic director of the site-specific paracinematic manifestation SITUATIONS PROJECTIONS.
Her research explores the phenomenology of the cinematic event within contemporary moving image practices. These questions are examined through a cross-disciplinary lens, bridging curatorial studies, philosophy, and visual culture. She focuses on the event-based nature of moving image , investigating how para-cinematic gestures reconfigure the conditions of the viewing experience. These forms are considered as critical tools that disrupt normative frameworks of perception, temporality, and spectatorship.
Her writing has been published in journals such as artpress and Ambiances (CNRS). She also contributed to the collective volume L’impureté de l’expérience esthétique (VRIN, 2024). As part of her editorial collaborations, she regularly writes for Les Nouveaux Riches magazine, where she is currently directing a series of interviews on para-cinematic practices.
Her curatorial and academic work has been presented in independent art spaces in Paris, Venice, and Amsterdam. Her research has been presented at various institutions including the Sorbonne, the École Normale Supérieure – ULM, Caen University, Università Ca' Foscari Venezia, and the University of Bristol.
